Genuary is a yearly event where people write creative code and share the results online. It happens every January, and for every day there is a prompt to follow to base your art on. There are no strict rules about how to interpret the prompt, or the order in which to do them, genuary is a purely an excercise in sharing creativity. I only started this year's genuary later in the year, but still had a lot of fun being inspired by a new prompt every day. I decided to use TIC-80 as my tool, as I love using it for quickly jamming code. Below is a selection of my favorite results, paired with the prompt of that day.
Day 1: Vertical or horizontal lines only.
Day 2: Layers upon layers upon layers.
Day4: Black on black.
Day 5: Isometric Art.
Day 6: Make a landscape using only primitive shapes.
Day 8: Draw one million of something.
Day 10: You can only use TAU in your code, no other number allowed.
Day 12: Subdivision.
Day 12 alternate version.
Day 13: Triangles and nothing else.
Day18: What does wind look like?
Day 20: Generative Architecture.
Day 21: Create a collision detection system.
Day 22: Gradients only.
Day 23: Inspired by brutalism.
Day 24: Geometric art - pick either a circle, rectangle, or triangle and use only that geometric shape.
Day 24 alternate version.
Day 24 alternate version 2.
Day 24 remix.
Day 25: One line that may or may not intersect itself.
Day 26: Symmetry.
Day 26 alternate version.
Day 27: Make something interesting with no randomness or noise or trig.
